New Year, New Adventures

Been planning on updating the blog lately but  as usual it is one of the last things on my list...so here I am late Friday night trying  to get a few things saved in this post so I can remember a few things about this time in our family's life amongst the busy days!  So as usual, I will post a few pictures from this week and maybe a few of my favorites from the holidays.  We had an unusual holiday this year of sorts.  Pretty hurried, some illness, and just stresses that would have been nice to leave out.  However,  it was so great to celebrate the birth of our Lord  on Christmas Day and reconnect with family we don't get to see often enough.  This week was a little doom and gloom for me.  Not a lot accomplished and the dreary rainy cold weather was a downer... although I am not complaining about the rain.  It was much-needed.  The kids and I went to get their flu shots tonight. They actually both agreed to it without MUCH protest after seeing the news regarding so many flu cases and how sick everyone has been.  They were very brave and then we headed to a few stores to spend their Christmas money.  That cheered them up.  Peyton got a cool skull rock playset from Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Jaedyn got a movie and some super cool new rubber boots.  So I will leave you with a few pictures over the last week and a few before.

My "I want to remembers" from this week...

*While visiting with the doctor, Jaedyn told him that she was so glad to have me to listen to her and that she knew that I would always be there for her.  Made my heart soar!  ....I always want her to know she can come to me about ANYTHING!  She has been having some issues with anxiety and  I am praying that the Lord helps her deal with her fears.

*Peyton read and tested on his first chapter book this week.  So proud he is such a great reader in 1st grade.  He also was so proud that he got all the math right on his "0+4s" he said. (his math facts:)

*Jaedyn came home last week and said that she was so proud of Peyton for standing up for himself when a friend was mistreating him.  She witnessed it at this friend's house and came home to tell me.  So loved her being proud of him and him beaming at that!

I am sure there are many more I can't recall now but I MUST start writing these down to record so I can memorize these tidbits of their precious childhoods. :)

Have a blessed weekend and new year!

Footnote:  well apparently my blog is not letting me publish pictures at the moment. So I will be back to add the pictures as soon as I figure out what is going on! :)
